KUD GUILD CHARTER REVISIONS by: Vikernas, Ancient-Priest of Myrkul (as edited by Glancer April 18, '01) /////* Vik, I'm just gonna write a little schtick right here about KUD... *///// The Knights of the Undying Dragon is a roleplaying/combat guild. Based on the theme of being the harbingers of the Lord of Bones, Myrkul, its members are expected to be not only disdaining of mortals, but to take great pleasure in killing them in the name of their god. As for actual combat, they are expected to be among the finest fighters to be found anywhere, and they're group tactics to be so cohesive as to look as if they are controlled by a single mind. Swift, efficient and most of all incredibly deadly, KUD Knights should command respect and fear from all they meet. Why be KUD? KUD is composed of a large amount of raw talent with strong leadership. When you see the lethal grace their groups operate with, you will be proud to rank yourself among them. Also, though, KUD is a brotherhood. Once a member, you are kin forever. Immature or disloyal applicants are almost invariably screened out during their ascension to Knight, leaving a guild whose members you will not only respect, but most probably genuinely like. In today's UO, talent is hard to come by. Speed is a given, and cowardice is rampant. The player base has changed, and you find yourself seeing grief tactics more and more often... KUD subscribes to none of this, and represents all that has been lost in the general community. Join us, you won't regret it. A. Prerequisities for Recruitment. 1) Must be, at a minimum, 2xGM. This is for your own protection as well as for your guildmates. 2) Proven Player Vs. Player competency. 3) Must act as a mature individual; no blatant trash-talking or Kewl-Dewdishness will ever be tolerated. 4) Submit an official Application and survey along with your character's skills and alt. characters. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- B. Guild Conduct. 1) NO resurrection killing. This is not something that we feel is necessary in UO. However, if you are Res-killed, feel free to take that individuals name and we will allow everyone to kill this individual as much as they see fit. 2) NO slander or vulgar profanity will be tolerated. Trash-talking is for those UO players who have absolutely no skill and take pride in Ganking people 5 v 1. Please keep all comments about others to the Flame boards. 3) Everyone is expected to attend organized guild-events. A lot of time is put into organizing these events for you and we expect high participation. If you cannot make it, you must ICQ a high council member well in advance. 4) Guild Perks are meant to reward you for your devotion and loyalty to the Knights of the Undying Dragon. Any abuse of these priveleges will result in immediate suspension of these them. 5) Knights and above have full and unrestricted power to deal with their appointed Squires/Slaves as they see fit. If this includes rape, torture, severe beatings, running laps around the guildhouse or being tickled by a feather, the respective squire/slave is EXPECTED to take it with a smile on his/her face. If you don't like the way you are being treated, leave the guild. (If you feel your overseer is treating you especially maliciously, please contact the Arch-Lich ASAP) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C. Guild Promotion 1) Slavehood: "You are the outcasts of a society of unbelievers. Your words went unheard in the deaf ears of mankind. Now it is time for your vengeance. Myrkul's armies are awaiting your presence. He will listen, only he can understand. Let your fear and hatred rule you. You are in the presence of Our Lord now." a) The period of Slavehood will last anywhere from 2-3 weeks. b) Your promotion rests on the shoulders of your overseer. If you receive good reports and his recommendation, you will be promoted. c) Five criteria are especially looked for: 1. Willingness to cooperate 2. Desire to succeed 3. Loyalty 4. PvP competence 5. Not being a brown-nose 2) Squireship: "Welcome mortal, your journey is almost complete. Though still bound by mortal flesh, your mind has been corrupted by Myrkul's presence. Let him feed upon you, give yourself over to him He shall be with you, now and forever. Be not afraid." a) After completing the tier of Slavehood, the potential member will move into the position of Squire. The usual time period for Squires is anywhere from 1-4 weeks. b) PvP Testing will occur in both 1v1, 2v2, 1v2, and 4v4 to record how you react under the pressures of combat. c) Again, promotion is solely based on the reports of your Overseer. PvP results only play a minor role in determining your status at this stage. 3) Children of Myrkul: "Truly, you are a thing of infinite beauty. Your flesh is still ripe upon your bones, but it will not be long now, Brother. You are part of the KIN. Spread the gift of Myrkul to the unbelievers. Bring praise upon his name." a) Now a full member of the guild you will be responsible for all guild fees but will also receive guild perks. b) Children's promotion depends on the following: 1. Recommendations from three knights (or higher) 2. Battle prowess 3. EXCEPTIONAL Roleplay and strict adherance to character 4. Participation in guild events 4) Knighthood: " You are the fruition of Myrkul's vision. Mortals quiver in terror at a mere mention of your hallowed name. Your empty eyes see more, than ever they did when inhibited by the flesh. your malevolence is overshadowed only by your loyalty to the KIN. Together we shall dawn a new age upon the realms of mankind. The dead will walk the earth again..." a) This is the stage most members who have the tenacity to stay with us will reach. At this level, the member is able to apply for promotion should a position open in the High-Council. b) Special-Badges of accomplishment will be used to denote exempliary practices on any knights part. This will be rewarded by the seperate departments of the guild and a detailed account of what these rewards are issued for can be found later. 5) Templars of Myrkul's Word: "Few are called knights in the armies of Undeath. Even fewer are bestowed with the title of Templar. You are the Elite warriors of Myrkul's armies. Your touch is like nightshade, and your eyes pierce the very fabric of reality. Blood and death are what you 'live' for, your only solace. Go, and bathe in the blood of Myrkul's enemies." a) To be admitted to this rank, you must be at least 5xGM. b) Three recommendations will be required from outstanding members of the guild. c) Must receive a Majority vote from the high council. Upon the chance of a tie, the Children will be allowed to cast their votes as well. d) PvP Genius; you are the creme de'la creme of Player vs. Player combat. Only those who have mastered this art will be admitted. 6) High-Council: "Though the ranks of Undead warriors are vitally important to our cause, It is the High-Council which is responsiblke for bringing the kingdoms of man to their knees. Your stratagems and tactical knowledge can mean the difference between 'life' and 'death' for the KIN. Not a position for the feint of heart." -- ALL High-Council Positions are made by appointment ONLY. MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THIS OFTEN!! Although we will do our best to remind all members of upcoming activities, it is ultimately your responsibility to check this board and let us know if you cannot make it to an event. All of our events will be posted here, (except confidential ones of course). Events not posted will be sent to you through ICQ. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- G. Basic Guild Etiquette 1. Maturity a) No Resurrection Killing. (except in retaliation; remember to report such to the High-council so that other KIN may take the soul of the unworthy peon) b) Never Loot someone's runes if you kill them in a dungeon. Although many players now simply use the help menu, it is still a common courtesy we expect you to show your enemies. In fact, mana permitting, a gate back to town for the deceased will be looked upon in high-esteem by other members of the guild. c) No vulgar profanity, trash-talking, Kewl-DeWdishness, slander, racist remarks etc... Although it is just a game, you never know who is on the other end of the guy you just killed. Show them the same level of respect you would show someone on the street. 2. Combat a) Don't let teammates die. b) Back-up teammates when they attack. c) Kill people. ** Please read Glancer and Zizon's Article as it elaborates on these three points.** d) Always try your best to stay in view of your Team-Leader. - You are much harder to kill when together than when spread apart. - You much more deadly in a group than when alone. - It's hard to heal someone when you cannot see them! e)Use your skills and resources wisely. - If you are meant to heal, conserve your mana to heal. - If someone is running low on a reg, lend em a few. Who knows, they might save your life? - Never, ever mana dump. This is a sure bet at taking a dirtnap. You may kill your current target, but where will you be when his 5 buddies show up? - Use POTS as an tool to help augment your PvP ability. We all know a well-timed POT can be a real life saver. Don't over use them though, or you'll run out before you know it. Conserve them. (Think; at 20 health by drinking a GH POT and casting In Vas Mani you are back to above 90 health, and your enemy...well, he's getting low on mana.) f)Never leave your Team-Members. - Trust in your team is vital, and by running away to save your own skin, you accomplish nothing but weakening our guild on a whole. - In some circumstances (stealing sigils), some members may remain behind to give the sigil- -holder time to escape. This is by no means cowardice on your part as you are protecting a vital part of the strategy. - At some times, it may be better for your KIN that you do run from unsurmountable odds. However, if your team leader tells you stay with your team, you stay right where you are. g) Communicate. If you see an opportunity, let your Team-Leader know about it! As a member of the KUD, we respect your ideas if they will make our job easier. *note- We may again use ROGER WILCO as its communication capabilities are pretty much unsurpassed. (Glancer's note: FireTalk is better :> ) h) Warlords Have the final say. They appoint Team-Leaders, and tell them our objectives. If these objectives change, you listen to what the Warlord tells you. Period. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- H. Guild Uniform 1. Nonguild Playing-time a) When not participating in something to do with the guild, you are free to wear any clothes you would like to.
